Real talk

He stands at the plate
with his
HEART beating fast.
The bases are loaded
the dye has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help him
he stands all alone.
A hit at this moment
would bring the boys home.
The ball nears the plate
he swings hard but misses.
There's a groan from the crowd,
with some boo's and some hisses.

A thoughtless voice cries out,
"Strike out the scrub"
Tears fill the boy's eyes,
the game's no longer fun.
Parents and spectators
with faces of stone;
Remember, he's just a boy
who's standing alone.
Please open your HEART
and give him a break.
For it's moments like this,
a great man you can make.
So keep this in mind,
if you hear someone forget.
He's just a small boy
and not a man yet.

Kobe

Dear Basketball,

From the momentI started rolling my dad’s tube socksAnd shooting imaginaryGame-winning shotsIn the Great Western ForumI knew one thing was real:
I fell in love with you.
A love so deep I gave you my all —
From my mind & bodyTo my spirit & soul.
As a six-year-old boyDeeply in love with youI never saw the end of the tunnel.I only saw myselfRunning out of one.
And so I ran.
I ran up and down every courtAfter every loose ball for you.You asked for my hustleI gave you my heartBecause it came with so much more.
I played through the sweat and hurt
Not because challenge called meBut because YOU called me.I did everything for YOUBecause that’s what you doWhen someone makes you feel asAlive as you’ve made me feel.
You gave a six-year-old boy his Laker dream
And I’ll always love you for it.But I can’t love you obsessively for much longer. This season is all I have left to give.My heart can take the poundingMy mind can handle the grindBut my body knows it’s time to say goodbye.
And that’s OK.
I’m ready to let you go.I want you to know nowSo we both can savor every moment we have left together. The good and the bad.We have given each otherAll that we have.
And we both know, no matter what I do next
I’ll always be that kidWith the rolled up socksGarbage can in the corner:05 seconds on the clockBall in my hands.5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1
Love you always,
Kobe

Blackout

Allow yourself to dream,
And when you do dream big

Allow yourself to learn
And when you do learn all you can

Allow yourself to laugh
And when you do share your laughter

Allow yourself to set goals
And when you do reward yourself as you move forward

Allow yourself to be determined
And when you do you will find you will succeed

Allow yourself to believe in yourself
And when you do you will find self confidence

Allow yourself to lend a helping hand
And when you do a hand will help you.

Allow yourself relaxation
And when you do you will find new ideas.

Allow yourself love
And when you do you will find love in return

Allow yourself to be happy
And when you do you will influence others around you.

Allow yourself to be positive
And when you do life will get easier.

Hurts

You wanna know what hurts... Losing to your enemy 7-5 in the third. For those who don't know tennis its like losing in 5 overtime in any other sport. The pain of losing is the worst feeling in the entire world. First of all I hate science and espically chemistry. BUT I WOULD RATHER SIT IN CHEMISTRY CLASS FOR 6 HOURS THEN LOSE IN A CLOSE MATCH. I thought when the cowboys lose it feels bad but nothing is worst then this feeling. nothing is worse.
